Cr-48 – Google Unveils the First Chrome OS Laptop

After Android Gingerbread 2.3 and Nexus S, the King of search engines finally unveils Chrome OS, its new operating system. Chrome OS is entirely focused on the Web and the Cloud. No need to go through a phase complicated installation or configuration of drivers. The system will be connected, will be updated as a great and allow you to exploit web applications directly via the browser. In fact, Google Chrome could almost be considered a browser Web sophisticated. Of course, it will be possible to use it offline, when you use applications that are capable of.

Google’s new unbranded “Cr-48,” the very first Chrome OS laptop. Google will distribute the laptop through its Chrome OS Pilot Program, in a sort of public beta.

As per Chrome OS Pilot Program :

The Chrome operating system is a work in progress. We’re looking for the right users to try it out and tell us how we can make it better.  Each participant in the Pilot program will receive a Cr-48 Chrome notebook; in return, we’ll expect you to use it regularly and send us detailed feedback.

Specifications of CR-48 includes Built-in Wi-Fi and 3G, Webcam for video chat, The vibrant 12-inch LCD display,full-size keyboard and oversized touchpad, 3.8 pounds with over eight hours of active usage and a week of standby time and so on.

Samsung and Acer should be the first notebooks with Chrome OS that will be launched later next year. So you can simply register in the pilot program for selected Chrome OS.
