Gionee Elife E7 : Overview
Chinese manufacturer Gionee is set to launch its flagship device in the Indian market soon after unveiling it in New Delhi couple of days ago.
The Gionee Elife E7 looks like a solid prospect on paper, but does it matches up to the features of well-known International and even Indian brands? Let’s have a look at the specifications of this phone and then decide for ourselves-
Owing to its large 5.5 inch screen size, the Gionee Elife E7 is essentially a phablet. The 5.5 inch screen comes with a full HD resolution at an impressive pixel density of 400 ppi and bezel measures just 2.3 mm.
HARDWARE AND CONNECTIVITY
The Elife E7 comes packed in with some serious power under its hood. The phone comes in 2 variants: the more powerful variant runs on a 2.5 GHz quad core processor and has a sizeable 3 GB RAM capacity while the other variant runs on a 2.2 GHz quad core processor and has 2 GB of RAM. Both configurations are enough to ensure that your device runs buttery smooth.
The Gionee Elife E7 comes with a host of connectivity options like 3G, 4G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, USB, NFC and GPS. This is one of the few phones in India which have 4G capability, which anyway is available only in a few select regions of the country.
One thing that stands out for the Gionee Elife E7 is its incredible imaging capability. Talking purely in terms of megapixels, this phone blows most other phones right out of the water with a 16 MP camera at the back and an 8 MP front camera. Gionee has gone on to claim that the E7’s front camera is as good as the iPhone 5s’s rear camera.
Now that is one bold claim! The camera has an LED flash for support in low light conditions and comes with full HD video recording capability. There’s also an interesting voice based trigger to capture photographs. This definitely sounds like a phone that would keep the shutterbugs happy.
SOFTWARE AND BATTERY
The Gionee Elife E7 runs a highly modified interface on top of Android 4.3 Jellybean OS, which Gionee likes to call Amigo.
The device comes with a 2500 mAH Li-ion battery for extended usage. However, for a phone as powerful as the Gionee Elife E7, a 2500 mAH battery doesn’t sound too generous. Let’s hope Gionee proves us wrong.
The Gionee Elife E7 certainly sounds very promising on paper and has specifications that rival the very best phones out in the market today. Right from the extremely powerful quad core processor and a mammoth 3GB RAM to the stunning 16 GB camera, all the numbers speak for themselves.
Moreover, company has priced this phone smartly, while one variant costs Rs 26,999, more powerful variant has a price tag of Rs 29,999. This brings the Gionee Elife E7 in the same territory as of value for money Nexus 5 and a lot lower than other flagships like LG G2 and Samsung Galaxy S4.
