Lenovo K4 Note vs Xiaomi Mi 4i: Who Wins the Race?

As far as the mid-range segment is concerned, Xiaomi anticipated the demand of such devices and launched the budget Mi 4i in India last year.
In the same segment, Lenovo’s last year’s K3 Note has been a very successful device for the brand. Now the company has launched the Lenovo K4 Note with excellent features on a budget.

Lenovo K4 Note vs Xiaomi Mi 4i
The Lenovo K4 Note sports a premium metallic frame that measures 9mm around the waist. The phone comes with range of replaceable back covers. The Xiaomi Mi 4i on the other hand sports a polycarbonate casing with a soft-touch matte rear cover.
It measures quite sleek 7.8mm around the waist, and tips the scale at 130grams. Overall, design-wise, both smartphones offer impressive body with durable design. However, the K4 Note also gets a fingerprint sensor on the back for enhanced security, and Dolby Audio for an immersive media experience.

Similar to the Lenovo K3 Note, its successor also comes with a large 5.5-inch full HD display bearing a resolution of 401ppi. The Lenovo K4 Note is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core MediaTek processor that supports 64-bit computing and is further supported by 3GB of RAM. It comes with 16GB of internal memory, which users can further increase up to 128GB by inserting a microSD card.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i on the other hand is backed by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, aided by 2GB of RAM. It also comes with 16GB of flash memory, which can’t be further increased via a microSD card. However, the Mi 4i gets USB OTG connectivity, which allows you to attach external USB drives to it. Overall, on the configuration front, the K4 Note offers better performance than the Mi 4i.
Coming to the camera, the Lenovo K4 Note offers a 13-megapixel primary snapper with a dual-LED flash, and gets a 5-megapixel secondary shooter for self-portraits and video-calling purposes.
The Mi 4i also offers a 13MP rear snapper with f/2.0 aperture and a dual-tone LED flash, and a 5Mp selfie snapper with 80-degree wide-angle lens. Overall, both the smartphones offer decent camera specs for the asking price tags.
Connectivity and battery
When it comes to connectivity, the Lenovo K4 Note and Xiaomi Mi 4i offer similar specifications. They offer dual-SIM slots with dual standby, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and A-GPS.
The Mi 4i gets a beefy 3,120mAh battery that supports Quick Charge technology, allowing the phone to be charged 40 percent in an hour. The Lenovo K4 Note on the other hand is powered by a beefier 3,300mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Mi 4i is a slightly old device, but offers a compact high-resolution Sunlight Display, a powerful processor, decent storage, camera and battery specifications for a budget. However, the phone misses out a microSD card for further storage expansion.
The Lenovo K4 Note on the other hand offers a fingerprint sensor, Dolby Audio, bigger display, a more powerful processor, higher RAM, a memory expansion slot, and a bigger battery in the same range. As far as the prices are concerned, the Lenovo K4 Note and Xiaomi Mi 4i, both smartphones are priced at Rs 11,999.
