 2. Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC)

MAMC is also one of the oldest institutions in the country. It was established in 1956 and it is located in Delhi. It was named after the Indian freedom fighter and first education minister of independent India “ Maulana Abul Kalam Azad”. More than 250 undergraduates are to be trained every year and more than 5000 beds are present in it. MAMC offers degrees of MBBS, PG in MS and MD, Degrees in MCh and DM.

3. Osmania Medical College – Hyderabad

Not only in India, but across the world, Osmania Medical College is one of the oldest medical colleges. It was established in the year 1846. It is affiliated to Osmania University. It offers all the courses for undergraduates and postgraduates. It has also has the non-clinical courses and super-specialty courses – admitting 200 students per year. The concept of Osmania Medical College was dated back in 1595 AD and called it as Dar- Ul-Shifa.

4. Jawahar Institute Of Postgraduate Medical Education And Research (JIPMER)

JIPMER was established in the years 1823 and 1964. The campus is spread over195 acres. It has about 200 faculty, 145 undergraduates, 75 postgraduates, 18 doctoral students, 360 resident physicians and more than 3000 nursing and administrative staff. It has been ranked 4th place in India Today in 2013 and 2nd place in Outlook India in 2012.

5. Seth Gordhandas Medical College And King Edward Memorial Hospital – Mumbai

KEM Hospital and Seth G.S. Medical college is one the oldest and the best medical colleges in the country. It is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra and established in the year 1926. It admits 380 undergraduate students per year and has more than 390 academic staff with 550 resident doctors, 1800 bedded hospital, which treats about 1.8 million out-patients and 78,000 inpatients every year. It offers MBBS, BOTh and BPTh for undergraduate courses. MD/MS, MSc, Diploma in Diabetolgy and MOTH for postgraduate courses. MCh and Dm for super specialty courses.
