Visualize Popular News Stories In a New way With Newsmap

Everyone wants to be updated with the most relevant news of the day and peoples can rely on services like Twitter to get their daily dose of information. There are number of alternative ways to access and read the news. And this site aims to satisfy it. Newsmap is an online application that visually reflects the constantly changing landscape of the Google News news aggregator.

As per official blog :

A treemap visualization algorithm helps display the enormous amount of information gathered by the aggregator. Treemaps are traditionally space-constrained visualizations of information. Newsmap’s objective takes that goal a step further and provides a tool to divide information into quickly recognizable bands which, when presented together, reveal underlying patterns in news reporting across cultures and within news segments in constant change around the globe.

NewsMap.jp is totally Adobe Flash based website which shows you news in a cool way. It presents the top news stories with big bold letters so you can visualize what’s happening in the news media.

You can change the way stories looks on NewsMap by registering with them. Click on the “Settings” link at the top left side of the page. You can set a home view so when NewsMap starts it uses your home view to present you with the news that matters to you.

Google News automatically groups news stories with similar content into clusters. With Newsmap, the size of each cell is determined by the amount of related articles that exist inside each topic cluster.
